OnePlus has released a CM11S OTA update – 05Q – for the OnePlus One which will be rolling out to users soon. This update is jam packed with new features and security fixes, like improvements to Blue Droid, updated media codecs, improved camera performance and more.
The major change in the release of this update is the addition of Swiftkey and MaxxAudio by Waves Audio. As previously reported, Swiftkey will now be a part of the operating system and users can switch to Swiftkey with just one touch. In terms of audio performance, MaxxAudio is an enhancement software that aims to produce clearer highs and deeper bass while also providing louder volume levels. Several codecs like WMA, DSP and AAC have also been enabled and these audio modifications does sound interesting for audiophiles.
The camera on the OnePlus One also sees an improvement with the addition of three new video focus options – auto, continuous and infinity. Some of the minor updates include regulatory information, audio output latency optimization, LED overlays, addition of an ANT+ library and improvements in translation system-wide. Not only that, several features were removed such as references to non-existent ringtones, silent alarm ringtone and unused key layouts.
There is no official release date yet for the Lollipop update (CM12S), but it shouldn’t take too long to wait for it. It’s good to see OnePlus supporting existing One users, despite moving away from CyanogenMod after the legal problems in India.
