Four months after NVIDIA GeForce GTX 900M GPU series went official, Razer has finally decided to refresh its 14-inch Razer Blade gaming laptop with the new GPU. At the same time, it also now features a slightly faster Intel Core i7 processor and double the amount of RAM as compared to the original 14-inch Razer Blade that was released in 2014.
Referred to as the most powerful Blade to date, the refreshed model comes standard with Intel Core i7-4720HQ quad-core Hyper-Threading processor which runs at a base clock speed of 2.6GHz that can be boosted further to 3.66GHz. As a comparison, the 2014 model is equipped with Intel Core i7-4702HQ processor that has a max speed of 3.2GHz.
Additionally, the 2015 model also features an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M GPU with 3GB GDDR5 VRAM as opposed to last year’s GeForce GTX 870M. Not to forget, the refreshed model now comes with 16GB RAM instead of 8GB.
However, the rest of the laptops remains the same as per 2014 model which include the IGZO touch panel with QHD+ (3200 x 1800) resolution, solid state storage options of up to 512GB and 70Whr internal battery. Same goes for its Malaysian pricing as well which is listed as RM 8199 for model with 128GB storage, RM 8799 for 256GB, and RM 9999 for 512GB at Razer’s online store.
Although Malaysian customers are able to place their order through the online store right away, the actual delivery of the refreshed Razer Blade will only takes place in 3 to 4 weeks’ time which is in line with its March release date for Malaysia as stated by the company. Meanwhile, the laptop will also be made available with non-touch full HD display option as well although its actual pricing and release date for Malaysia is not yet known at the moment.
