Spotify is introducing a new feature called “Touch Preview” to its music-streaming service. The feature aims to improve how users discover music by allowing them to touch and hold on an album cover to hear a 30-second preview.
How it works is users can just tap and hold a track to activate the 30-second song preview. Next, they can just slide their finger to any other song or album and it will automatically start the next 30-second song preview complete with minimal fade in and out. If they like it, they can just swipe right to queue it to their playlist or swipe left to save it to their collection. Besides that, users can also slide to the edge of the screen to scroll to songs at the bottom of the playlist.
iOS users should expect to see the update rolling out by now, while Android and other platforms will have to wait a bit longer.
