The Nexus 6 is quite a difficult smartphone to get your hands on currently due to stock shortages, but this latest issue with the phone could deter potential buyers. Multiple users of the Nexus 6 have reported that the back cover is popping out, revealing the innards of the smartphone.
Concerned Nexus 6 owners took to Reddit and Twitter to highlight the issue as the device was discovered to be defective right out of the box. The users have noted that the back cover was being pushed out by the battery itself that has expanded. Manufacturer Motorola is well aware of the issue as it told a Twitter user that it was “seeing a few”.
@ChrisCannon396 We're seeing a few — bad luck to get two! Do you need help getting this one replaced?

As the Nexus 6 is not available officially in Malaysia (yet), practice extra caution if you’re thinking of purchasing it from unofficial channels. More often than not, there’s not much that these unofficial distributors can do to help rectify this issue.
Fortunately, Motorola and US carriers who have the Nexus 6 are responding pretty quickly to get the defective smartphone replaced. Hopefully not many devices were affected by this and it’s simply a quality control issue rather than a hardware defect.
