Xiaomi has worked on not only improving its smartphones, but also its set top box. The new Mi Box mini is barely a quarter of the size of the Mi Box announced last year, and yet still packs some impressive internals. It may also end up being mistaken for a power adapter more often than not.
The Mi Box mini is designed to plug directly into a power socket; hence its unusual shape. Inside, it has a Cortex-A7 quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, and 4GB internal storage. It can connect directly to a display using its full sized HDMI port, and also has both BlueTooth and WiFi connectivity. The BlueTooth is meant to allow the bundled remote control to operate the set top box.
The Xiaomi Mi Box mini is being priced at RMB199 (RM114) but sadly, there is no information on it’s release date – we don’t even know if it’ll make its way to Malaysia.
