[Update 9:00pm] Maxis has just sent us the statement with regards to the network problem. Available after the break.
If you cannot connect to the internet on your Maxis mobile line right now, you’re not alone. Apparently, Maxis’ data line is down at the moment in selected areas such as Mont Kiara, Segambut, Sentul and more, with very weak overall signal making it hard to even make normal voice calls or to send SMS.
As you can see, Maxis is aware of the problem and they say that “rectification works are in progress. The affected area seems to be around Kuala Lumpur (Jalan Ipoh, Lembah Pantai, Mont Kiara, Duta Mas, Segambut, Damansara Heights, Bangsar Baru and Kampung Kerinchi), but we’re seeing complaints for other areas as well including Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Shah Alam and even Johor Bahru. Sadly, Maxis did not mention the reason, neither did they say anything about the estimate time the problem would be resolved.

The outage is mainly for Maxis data including Maxis Fibre to Home internet. The line as a whole seems pretty weak too – we could hardly get any line at all when we were out in one of the affected areas.

Due to an unintended fibre cut caused by 3rd party roadworks, customers in the Jalan Ipoh, Lembah Pantai, Mont Kiara, Dutamas, Segambut, Damansara Heights, Bangsar and Kerinchi areas may be experiencing difficulty in making calls & using mobile internet services. Our field team and contractors are working towards resolving this as soon as possible. Updates will be available on our social media channels. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and we thank our customers for their patience.
