Team Vulcun, an ex-Pro League of Legends team, has announced a fantasy league for the popular MOBA. Like fantasy football, players will buy and trade virtual players while getting points for how well their chosen players perform over the course of a season. There is also a US$250,000 prize pool to be won.
Created by the previous owners of Team Vulcun, Ali Moiz & Murtaza Hussain, the new fantasy league will also carry the same name. The two claim that this is the best way for fans of the eSport to follow the action and even win a little prize money on the side.
The fantasy league will first follow the upcoming LoL LCS league, and is in a closed beta stage. The prize pool of US$250,000 appears to be for the closed beta, and both Moiz and Hussain say that they will reinvest every penny they earn into expanding the quarter of a million dollar prize pool.
It is unknown if the Vulcun fantasy league is open internationally, as the FAQ indicates that US and Canadian citizens are free to join; although it does say that residents of other countries must verify that this is legal in their jurisdiction.
Those interested in joining should request entry into the closed beta.
