The PlayStation blog has revealed the results of its Game of the Year survey. While there are no real surprises among the winners, the Editors’ Choice picks are a little more interesting and diverse than the collective voting of 400,000 people.
Destiny came out ahead as the best PlayStation 4 game of 2014, which should come as no surprise. Despite lackluster reviews, the game has somehow managed to convince players to keep coming back to play the game. It did not, however, make it as the PlayStation 3 game of the year; a title that went to Dark Souls II.
Bioshock Infinite took the prize as PS Plus Game of the Year, which should come as no surprise. The game already won several awards when it appeared in 2013, and giving it away for free as part of the PS Plus subscription was a fantastic deal for anyone who didn’t already own the game.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was voted as the most anticipated game of 2015, beating out both Arkham Knight and Persona 5. Curiously, Evolve wasn’t among the Top 4 most anticipated games, with Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain rounding out that particular category. What is interesting is that the most anticipated games are mostly single player titles, which really makes people wonder about the necessity of a multiplayer option that exists in many games.
