The HTC Desire 820s, a MediaTek-powered version of the HTC Desire 820, has finally landed in Malaysia for a retail price of RM1,199. If you do not wish to pay full price for it, you can now get it from Maxis from as low as RM599 when you sign up for a contract with the telco.
Maxis is offering the mid-range Android smartphone from HTC with its MaxisONE postpaid plans – MaxisONE Plan Lite or MaxisONE Plan, both equipped with data, and limitless calls and SMS.
As mentioned, the HTC Desire 820s is a MediaTek version of the HTC Desire 820 that was announced back in IFA 2014. It features a large 5.5” 720p display and right below that is a 64-bit octa-core MT6752 chip clocked at 1.7GHz. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, and uses a different GPU than the Snapdragon-powered Desire 820 – Mali-T760 instead of the Adreno 405. Other specs include 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, Dual-SIM, and is LTE-enabled.
