True to our suspicion, AORUS has indeed unveiled a brand new 15.6-inch laptop at the ongoing CES 2015 in Las Vegas. Named as the AORUS X5, it fits in nicely between the company’s existing 13.3/13.9-inch X3 and 17.3-inch X7 gaming laptop series.
One of the much -touted feature of the new AORUS X5 is its dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M in SLI mode. According to AORUS, the GPU pairing is powerful enough to churn out up to P12000 score in 3DMark 11 test.
What’s that…not familiar with the GPU? Well, we suppose you will hear more about it really soon…as soon as NVIDIA details it to us.
At the same time, the laptop is also equipped with an IGZO 4K display panel. Weighing less than 2.5kg with a thickness of 22.9.mm, other details regarding AORUS X5 are still somehow under wraps by the company at the moment.
Meanwhile, AORUS has also announced the X3 Plus v3 gaming laptop which a refresh of its existing 13.9-inch X3 Plus gaming laptop. The new model is now equipped with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M which is replacing the GeForce GTX 870M that was present in the previous X3 Plus. In terms of the GPU’s VRAM, it comes with 6GB GDDR5.
The new AORUS X3 Plus v3 also features an IGZO display panel although the resolution remains the same as its predecessor at 3200 x 1800. Just like the AORUS X5, the company didn’t elaborate further regarding the processor, RAM, hard drive, and other components that it has equipped into X3 Plus v3.
In terms of availability and pricing, the new AORUS X5 will be released in Q2 2015 with a price tag between US$2,299 (about RM8,190) to US$2,799 (about RM9,970) while the AORUS X3 Plus v3 will be available from this month onwards for US$2,199 (about RM7,835). We’ll keep you posted once either of these bad boys arrive in Malaysia.
