Looking forward to the next generation flagship Xperia smartphone from Sony? Your wait might only be days away because the Japanese company recently released a teaser video that hints at an Xperia device that will be unveiled at CES 2015.
The video showed off the number “5” several times, possibly hinting that the event will commence at 5PM on 5 January 2015. While they didn’t show any device at all in the video, there’s a short snippet that shows a child holding a lollipop – no prize for guessing what that means. On top of that, the Xperia Blog also spotted that there’s a reflection of what looks like a mobile device on the human eye.

The Sony Xperia Z3 may only be a couple of months old – it was unveiled back in September at IFA 2014 – but there are already a handful of leaks about its next generation products, the Xperia Z4 lineup of devices. The Z4 smartphone is rumoured to feature a 5.5” display with QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440. Beneath that is a Snapdragon 810 processor with 4GB of RAM and up to 32GB of internal storage. As for the camera, Sony will be upgrading the camera from the IMX220 20.7MP sensor that has been used since the Xperia Z1, to a curved Exmor RS CMOS sensor with a similar resolution.
How many of you are looking forward to this? CES 2015 will start on Monday, 5 January 2015, so only a couple of days more before we find out for sure if Sony will announce a new flagship smartphone less than half a year since the previous one, or if it’s merely just an announcement for Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its existing devices.
