We have spotted two Asus devices in SIRIM’s database: the ZenFone Selfie, and the entry-level ZenFone Go. We already know the Selfie could be launched in Malaysia this month, but not the ZenFone Go. In fact, this is the first indication of the affordable device’s arrival in Malaysia.
Without a doubt, the ZenFone Selfie is the higher-end offering of the two smartphones. It has a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor paired with 2GB or 3GB of RAM, up to 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot which supports cards up to 128GB, LTE connectiivty, and a 3,000mAh battery.
As a smartphone aimed at selfie lovers, the ZenFone Selfie has 13MP rear and front cameras. Both cameras are equipped with dual-tone LED flash, while the rear shooter has laser autofocus. Needless to say, the Selfie is definitely a camera-centric smartphone.
The ZenFone Go, on the other hand, is an entry-level device. Unfortunately, not much has been revealed about this affordable smartphone yet. Rumours, however, are suggesting that it will have a 5-inch 1280 x 720 resolution display, a MediaTek processor paired with 2GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, an 8MP rear camera, a 2MP front-facing shooter, and 3G connectivity.
By the looks of things, Asus Malaysia seems to be gearing up to launch a slew of new products on our shores. We wouldn’t be surprised if the ZenPad tablets and these ZenFone smartphones will be launched simultaneously soon.
