Finally, after reading so much about the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active, Samsung has published the device onto its official website, for a while at least. The device made a short appearance on Samsung U.S.A’s website, and although it has already been removed, its pictures and specs has been unveiled in its full glory.
First up, while the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active may not look as sweet and elegant as the existing S6 and S6 edge, it still packs top-notch hardware under its 5.1” QHD display. It is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7420 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable storage.
Other specs include 16MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, 2550mAh battery, has a heartrate sensor but sadly, no fingerprint scanner this time round.
As for the “Active” features, the device is dust and water resistant (IP68), which means that it can be submerged into 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes. There are also Activity Zone app, which can be accessed using a dedicated Active key.
The device is no longer listed on Samsung’s website but if you’re one of those who’ve been waiting for a water resistant version of the Galaxy S6, your wait might not be too far away.
