It was only about five months back when the Meizu M1 Note was launched, and now, the Chinese company has unveiled its successor, the aptly named – though predictable – M2 Note. With its retail price starting from 799 Chinese yuan (about RM475) it is even cheaper than its predecessor, making it one of the most affordable Android phablet in the market.
Compared to its predecessor, the Meizu M2 Note features several notable upgrades, including a microSD card slot – excellent news for certain (or most) consumers – which supports cards up to 128GB and a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 Sharp IGZO display, which Meizu claims has a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a brightness of 450 nits. It has also gained a physical home button, although its plastic construction is retained.
Other specifications of the M2 Note include a MediaTek MT6753 1.3GHz octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, Flyme 4.5 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, and a rather generous 3,100mAh battery. It also comes with 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras, not to mention 4G connectivity as well.
The Meizu M2 Note will go on sale in China later tonight for 799 yuan (about RM475) and 999 yuan (about RM595) for the 16GB and 32GB models respectively. More information on this attractive phablet can be found on its official product page. Seeing how Meizu already has an official presence here in Malaysia, it’s probably only a matter of time before the M2 Note is made available here.
