Huawei has just launched two of its new smartphones in Malaysia: the P8, the company’s current flagship smartphone, and the P8 Lite, a slightly smaller and more affordable variant of the aforementioned device.
As a flagship device, the Huawei P8 boasts a premium metal body with very respectable hardware. It has a 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080 display, a HiSilicon Kirin 930 2GHz octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage which is expandable with a microSD card up to 128GB, and a modest 2,680mAh battery. In the camera department, it has a 13MP rear camera with optical image stabilisation, and an 8MP front-facing shooter.
As for the Huawei P8 Lite, it is a lower-end and more affordable variant of the P8. In terms of specification, it features a 5-inch 1280 x 720 display, a Kirin 620 octa-core processor – same one powering the Honor 4C and Honor 4X – paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable with a microSD card up to 128GB), and a 2,200mAh battery. It also has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front snapper.
In terms of operating system, the Huawei P8 and P8 Lite are both running Emotion UI 3.1 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. Both devices also feature 4G connectivity and dual-SIM support.
Both the Huawei P8 and P8 Lite are available at all Huawei authorised stores throughout Malaysia from today onward for RM1,799 and RM899 respectively. Oddly enough, only the P8 is available for purchase online at Vmall.my. If you’d like to learn more about the Huawei P8, check out our hands on of the flagship smartphone here.
