Have you ever lost a thumbdrive? Then you might want to take extra caution as to not lose SanDisk’s new 128GB Ultra Fit USB 3.0 flash drive. We don’t know exactly how small it is, but it doesn’t look like it’s any larger than a wireless mouse receiver. Alongside this extremely small drive, SanDisk also launched a high-capacity 256GB Ultra USB 3.0 drive and two series of portable Type-C SSDs.
While the 128GB Ultra Fit USB 3.0 drive is incredibly tempting to be brought along in your wallet due to its minuscule size, SanDisk says it is more suitable to expand the storage of your devices with its plug-and-stay design. Truth be told, it’s better to plug it into your laptop and forget about it, rather than forgetting where you placed it.
The 256GB SanDisk Ultra 3.0, drive, on the other hand, looks just like any regular thumbdrive, aside from the huge capacity. The 128GB Ultra Fit and 256GB Ultra drives have transfer rates of up to 130MB/s and 100MB/s respectively with an unspecified write speed that is said to be lower. In terms of pricing, the Ultra Fit goes for US$119.99 (about RM440) while the Ultra is set at US$199.99 (around RM740).
Other than these two flash drives, SanDisk also launched the Extreme 900 and 500 series of portable Type-C SSDs. The former is available in 480GB, 960GB and 1.92TB capacities for US$399.99 (around RM1,475), US$599.99 (approximately RM2,210) and US$999.99 (about RM3,690) respectively, while the latter is available in 120GB, 240GB and 480GB capacities for US$99.99 (about RM370), US$149.99 (around RM555) and US$239.99 (approximately RM885) respectively.
In terms of availability, all of these SanDisk products are said to be available worldwide immediately, so you might be able to find these at your local retail store right now.
