Xiaomi has finally launched the Mi Note Pro, albeit only in China for now. Retailing at 2,999 yuan, which is about RM1,725, it is priced very competitively, especially when it’s compared to other similarly equipped smartphones.
First unveiled alongside the Xiaomi Mi Note, the Mi Note Pro is the higher-end variant of the very same phablet with a few notable upgrades. Instead of a 5.7-inch 1080p display, the Pro has a considerably sharper 2560 x 1440 panel that boasts a pixel density of 515ppi. It also has a newer and faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 2GHz octa-core processor under its hood paired with 4GB of RAM.
Rounding out the specification are 64GB of non-expandable internal memory, a 13MP rear camera with optical image stabilisation and dual-tone LED flash, a 4MP front-facing shooter, dual 4G SIM capability, and a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 2.0.
Interestingly, Xiaomi will also be inviting five lucky fans for a trip to the US and India – all expenses paid. Not only that, these fans will also be given a free Mi Note Pro and a Yi Action Camera. Unfortunately, no other information on the contest has been revealed by the Chinese company yet, but hopefully it will be open to international fans.
The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro will go on sale in China on the 12th of May on its China website. Retailing approximately RM1,725 for a flagship device, there’s a good chance that it will sell like hot cakes.
