I think it’s safe to say that Samsung hasn’t been doing well at all for the past few quarters. Many smartphone sales reports we’ve been seeing shows that while Samsung continues to be at the top, its sales have been slumping. The official “earnings guidance for the first quarter of 2015” released by Samsung indicates a similar trend too.
According to the report, Samsung Electronics made a consolidated sales of about 47 trillion Korean won (about RM153.76 billion), with a consolidated operating profit of approximately 5.9 trillion Korean won (about RM19.72 billion). The numbers are still impressive, but definitely not as impressive as the same period last year – Q1 2015 sees a 30% drop in profit and 12% drop in sales.
Of course, this report does not include any earnings from the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. The Galaxy S6 smartphones have only been launched around the world in recent weeks, so let’s hope these most beautiful Samsung smartphones yet will help to turn things around for the company in the next quarter.
