OnePlus One owners, the wait is finally over; OxygenOS is now available after it has been delayed. However, as expected, owners of the OnePlus One would have no flash it themselves as no OTA of the new ROM will be available. This can prove to be a bit tricky for the average user.
Thankfully, OnePlus took this into account and has provided a very detailed instruction to flash its new ROM. It even has a different set of instruction for Windows and Mac users. That being said, some of the steps can still be a little confusing to users who are not familiar with flashing, but as long as the instructions given by OnePlus are followed to a T, it should be fine.

At a glance, OxygenOS seems to be pretty close to stock Android, just like what OnePlus has previously mentioned. The new ROM still supports screen-off gestures such as double-tap to wake and gesture shortcuts for the camera and flashlight app. To ensure that OxygenOS will only get better in time, OnePlus also has a feedback app that users can use to submit their comments on OxygenOS directly to the ROM team.
However, OxygenOS does have several issues, although most of it are pretty minor. These issues include files occasionally crashing when they are uploaded to the cloud, the inability to hang up calls using headphones controls (which happens intermittently), and image files sometimes crashing when they are renamed. OxygenOS also does not support multi-select deletes yet, which can be a deal-breaker to some users.
If you own a OnePlus One and would like to try out the company’s new ROM, you can find detailed instructions to flash it over at OnePlus’ forum. Just make sure you follow the instructions correctly to avoid bricking your smartphone.
