Even before its existence was officially revealed to the world, Microsoft’s new internet browser for Windows 10 has been fondly referred to via its code name Project Spartan. As it turns out, the browser does have a proper name and Microsoft has finally revealed it during the company’s Build 2015’s keynote earlier today.
So, say hello to Microsoft Edge.

In addition to that, Microsoft has also showed off some additional new features for the browser. One of them is a new tab page that provides quick access to top sites as well as provide users with useful info such as weather, sports results, stocks and many more.
Other than that, web extensions (similar to those currently exists on Google Chrome and Firefox) will be available for Microsoft Edge as well. In fact, the Corporate VP of Microsoft’s PC-Tablet-Phone team, Joe Belfiore claims that the Reddit web extension for Microsoft Edge that he demonstrated on stage was actually a Chrome extension with some minor modifications.
That being said, Joe didn’t mention how users will be able to install web extension on Microsoft Edge. In Google Chrome, web extensions are made available through the Chrome Web Store – so we wonder if Microsoft will utilize the same method for its new browser.
