Microsoft has expanded the list for the Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones to cover even more Lumia devices. There are still some glaring holes in the list, like the Lumia 930; although it is nice to see the Technical Preview arriving on the Lumia 1020 and 1520.
The limited number of initial phones was due to the fact that some devices simply did not have enough of a partition size for the operating system to be installed and then still have enough room for future updates. However, it looks like Microsoft has solved the problem with something called “partition stitching”, that allows the the system partition to be dynamically resized.
Microsoft has provided a caveat for the list of Lumia devices that support the Windows 10 Technical Preview. It says that if it discovers a device specific bug, it may pull that device from the list. However, the company says that any Lumia phone not on the list may also appear if they manage to fix the device specific bugs before the next release.
