Gamers and music lovers alike, listen up: Video Games Live (VGL) is about to return to Malaysia once again. Scheduled to take place on 29 August at the Putra Indoor Stadium in Bukit Jalil, this will be VGL’s third stint in Malaysia after two successful shows in 2012 and 2010.
For those who are not familiar with VGL, it is a live orchestra concert that features music from well-known video games. Spearheaded by industry veterans Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall, games that are featured on VGL come from across the ages, genres and platforms including Assassins Creed, Castlevania, Final Fantasy, Halo, Mario, Metal Gear Solid, Tetris, Portal, World of Warcraft, Zelda and many more.
However, VGL is not just a straight-up concert as there are side activities as well including artists meet and greet sessions, game competitions, and cosplays. In fact, VGL last appearance in Malaysia in 2012 actually featured a live Guitar Hero competition on stage.
Meanwhile, there are still quite a number of info that VGL Malaysia has yet to reveal including ticket pricing and concert times. We’ll keep you posted once we receive any update on that, so stay tuned.
