Now that both HTC and Samsung have announced their brand new flagship smartphones for 2015, how do they stack up against each other – as well as other flagships released this year? Check out our specs comparison table after the break.
The HTC One (M9), Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are without a doubt the stars of tonight’s show. All three devices feature the latest and greatest hardware available in the market, but let’s not forget the flagship smartphones announced just earlier this year, such as the LG G Flex 2, as well as the new Mi Note and Mi Note Pro smartphones by Xiaomi. So how do these six devices stack up against each other, if we based it purely on hardware?

While every other smartphone has opted for Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 810 processor, Samsung has decided to employ its very own Exynos processor for the new Galaxy S6 smartphones. It’s not just any Exynos processor either: it’s the Exynos 7420, the world’s first mobile chipset built on the 14nm process, which promises significant performance improvements and greater efficiency for better battery life.
Even the Exynos 5433-powered Galaxy Note 4 is one of the best Android smartphones we’ve ever used, so things look very promising for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge to live up to its performance claims. Check out our previous post for our first impressions of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.
As for HTC, the smartphone may look similar as its previous two generations of flagship devices, but why change something that has been loved by everyone since 2013? HTC’s One range of smartphones has always been touted as one of the sexiest Android devices in the market, and the One M9 remains the same. HTC did, however, improve things a little by using a two-tone metal frame around its brushed metal finish.
On top of that, HTC made a bunch of improvements on the inside, using the latest hardware available. The company also removed its UltraPixel back camera, moving it to the front, and packing the rear with a 20MP shooter instead. Sadly, HTC has also removed its Duo Camera at the back. There’s more in our previous post for an in-depth hands on with the all new HTC One M9.
So, what do you think about these 2015 flagship smartphones? If money wasn’t a problem, which one would you pick or do you have something else in mind?
