The next generation of Huawei TalkBand smartband, the TalkBand B2, has been revealed at MWC 2015. It looks nothing like its colourful predecessor, instead choosing a more blockish design and duller colours. All that means it looks more like a regular watch that people can wear all the time.
A few changes have been made to the TalkBand hardware, the most noticeable will be the fact that the wristband can no longer be use for charging. Users will have to pop the earpiece off and plug the microUSB charger directly into it. It’s a little less convenient, but it isn’t too much of a turnoff. Considering that the earpiece is meant to be removed from the wristband for use anyway.
Other changes are an improved motion tracking system and the addition if a touch display, instead of the analogue buttons of the TalkBand B1. There is now also the option to pair the TalkBand B2 with two phones; a feature meant to cater to users who operate with more than one phone at a time.
The TalkBand B2 has either seven hours of talk time or five days of time as an activity tracker. It will retail for €179 (about RM 725) at launch, with a premium edition also available for €199 (about RM806). There is no telling when the TalkBand B2 will be made available.
