The HTC One M9 has just received a launch date for the Taiwanese market. Set to be released on the 16th of March 2015, the new flagship will come in two storage sizes: 32GB and 64GB. Prices for both variants have also been revealed, and surprisingly, these two variants are priced not that far apart from each other.
The 32GB variant of the One M9 is set at 21,900 Taiwan Dollar (approximately RM2,565), while the 64GB model will go for 23,900 Taiwan Dollar (about RM2,800). That’s only about RM235 difference between both models, which is quite a pleasant surprise. However, as these are prices for the Taiwanese market, things might be different once the smartphone reaches Malaysia.
That being said, if you’re really adamant about not spending more just for a bigger internal storage, the HTC One M9 does come with a microSD card slot. Seeing as how you can always get a bigger microSD card in the future when you need more storage, you won’t really be losing out much with the 32GB variant.
Other specification of the One M9 include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor paired to 3GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 display, a 2,840mAh battery, a 20MP rear camera with a front-facing UltraPixel shooter, and Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense UI 7.0 out of the box.
It’s interesting how the HTC One M9 will be entering the market earlier than the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, which are slated to release in Malaysia sometime in April. Does this mean the One M9 could arrive in Malaysia even earlier than the Samsung flagships? We’ll just have to wait for an official announcement from HTC.
