Using a HTC One M7 that is only about two years old? It looks like your beloved phone has reached the end of major update cycle from Google. The Vice President of Product Management has confirmed that the HTC One M7 will not be receiving Android 5.1 update.
Android 5.0 was released to the HTC One M7 just about a month ago but it looks like that’s all your device is going to get. Mo Versi Tweeted that only the Google Play Edition of HTC One M7 will receive Android 5.1 and is targeted at an April release.
@kennymaclean Only the GPE version of M7 will receive 5.1. Our target is early April. Thanks.

Don’t be too upset though, HTC did stick to is promise to deliver two years of updates for its flagship smartphones starting with the M7, and well, I guess the time is up for this device. If you’re using the Google Play Edition of the One M7, do check for an update next month.
Nevertheless, despite the lack of update, the One M7 is still a very decent phone. I still remember when the HTC One M7 was first announced, how it blew many away with its design and was called the sexiest smartphone back then.
Of course, it still is one of the sexiest smartphones available, the One M9 still has a similar design for that reason, and hey, at least it has Android 5.0 Lollipop on board; some flagship smartphones aren’t even receiving that update yet.
