HTC unveiled the One M9 at MWC 2015, as well as couple of other products like the HTC Vive and HTC Grip. However, sources have reported that a HTC One E9 could make its debut in China as early as March 2015. The HTC One M8 also had an E variant back in 2014 and it seems the Taiwanese company will be doing the same for its latest flagship.
Based on the report, there will be a new device which is the HTC One E9 and it will have three variants – E9t, E9pt, E9pw. The three variants will all have the same specifications except for its network connectivity, each targeted to the different carriers in each country. The E9t and E9pt will have support for GSM / TD-SCDMA / TD-LTE networks while the E9pw will have additional support for the WCDMA and LTE FDD networks.
The HTC One E9 will feature a larger 5.5-inch screen that boasts a 2K display. Under the hood, it will be powered by Mediatek’s new 2.0GHz MT6795 octa-core 64-bit processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM. The phone will be running on Android 5.0 out of the box, and much alike the One M9, it will have the same 20MP camera on the back with the 4MP Ultrapixel camera up on the front.
The device is expected be announced in China by the end of March or early April 2015. No information on availability has been made but if it does come to Malaysia, it might take some time. As for pricing, it should be cheaper than the One M9.
