Right after it was announced last night, plenty of NVIDIA’s add-in-board partners has started to officially unveiled their own take on the new GeForce GTX 960. One such partner is ZOTAC who has provided two different variants of GTX 960 for Malaysian market: the standard version and the AMP! Edition (shown above).
One of the major differences between these two variants of ZOTAC GTX 960 cards is their clock speed. The standard ZOTAC GTX 960 model apparently runs at a base speed of 1177 MHz that can be boosted up to 1240 MHz while the AMP! Edition’s base speed is listed as 1266 MHz which can further go up to 1329 MHz.
Additionally, the AMP! Edition is also equipped with a thermal solution that ZOTAC dubbed as IceStorm which features dual 90mm fans. The card is also equipped with a set of metal back plate and front frame that the company called ExoArmor. The standard ZOTAC GTX 960 only features a set of two 80mm thermal fans.
Apart from these differences, the rest of their features are pretty much identical such as 2GB GDDR5 memory running at 7010 MHz, one DisplayPort, one HDMI 2.0, and two dual-link DVI ports. Both cards also support the company’s FREEZE technology that allows their fans to be idle when the GPU’s temperature is low enough which will kick in again automatically once the temperature goes up again.
Not to forget, the performance of both graphics cards can be tweaked using ZOTAC’s own FireStorm overclocking tool. In Malaysia, each of these graphics cards also comes with free Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes as well as 3 + 2 years extended warranty.
In terms of pricing, the standard ZOTAC GeForce GTX 960 goes for RM 849 while the AMP! Edition is priced at RM 949. To learn more about them, contact your favourite IT hardware retailers or visit www.zotac.com.
