Now that Xiaomi has a range of devices like smartphones, wearables, smart home gadgets, TV, and such, what next? Gaming products of course. Xiaomi recently released several teasers for something happening on 20 January 2015, and it is believed that they have some sort of gaming product.
We have no idea what it is but the teaser is posted on the Chinese company’s official gaming account on Weibo, so no prize for guessing what it might be. According to the text written on the teaser, it is apparently a large device, but compact enough to be held using one hand.
Since the ban of gaming consoles in China has been lifted last year, it is believed that the teaser could be referring to a console that hooks up to a TV, hence the “big but small” statement. However, the company already have its own smart TV, a new Mi Box Mini, and even a game controller, so a dedicated console for games would seem a little redundant.
Another possibility is a gaming tablet. GizmoChina notes that Xiaomi could rebrand its Mi Pad to a gaming-centric one. A tablet is definitely smaller than a TV and game console setup, and would most definitely fit in your hands – in line with the teaser’s tagline.
Of course, none of these are confirmed so keep your fingers crossed that it’ll be something really good.
