It took NVIDIA four months after the initial debut of GeForce GTX 900 series to actually announce this particular card but nevertheless, here it is: the new GeForce GTX 960. Being the third member in the GeForce GTX 900 graphics card series, it is positioned to cater the mid-range market and acts as the replacement for GTX 760.
Just like GTX 980 and 970, the GTX 960 is based on NVIDIA’s Maxwell architecture although naturally it contains lower number of CUDA cores at 1024. The card runs at a base clock speed of 1126 MHz which can be boost further to 1178 MHz.
With a standard memory configurations of 2GB GDDR5, the GTX 960 actually has similar memory clock speed as per its two other higher end sibling at 7.0 Gbps but is restricted to 128-bit memory interface which resulted in a memory bandwidth of 112 Gbps.
The GTX 960’s reference design graphic card apparently requires only a single 6-pin power connector to operate and has a TDP of 120W. NVIDIA recommended at least a 450W power supply unit in order to utilize the GTX 960 properly.

With a general starting price of USD 199 (RM 715), you should be able to see the new graphics cards from NVIDIA’s add-in-board partners such as ASUS, MSI, and ZOTAC at retailers throughout the world immediately.
