The Nokia N1 has already went on sale in China just as the rumour suggested, and in just four minutes and two seconds 20,000 units were sold, clearing out the company’s inventory. Even after selling its devices division to Microsoft, Nokia seems to be still going strong in the mobile market with this new tablet.
Nokia conducted the sale of the Nokia N1 online, which was probably inspired by Xiaomi’s numerous highly successful flash sales. Customers who couldn’t secure any unit will have to wait for the next batch to arrive on the 15th of January.
The good news for Nokia doesn’t stop there. Numerous benchmarks comparing the N1 against the iPad Mini 3 started surfacing, with the Nokia N1 emerging victorious in all of them. In AnTuTu’s CPU efficiency benchmark, the N1 scored as high as 45,121 compared to the iPad Mini’s score of 28,446, although other benchmarks did not have such a huge margin.
Nokia still have not given any specific timeframe yet for the Nokia N1’s release outside of China. However, judging from past launches of Nokia devices in Malaysia, the wait shouldn’t be too long.
