Samsung has unveiled the ATIV One 7 Curved, an all-in-one PC that has a curved 27-inch monitor. While a curved TV isn’t that ideal for many consumers who places their TV set far away, a curved monitor might make more sense considering that users will be able to benefit from the curvature due to the closer proximity of the screen.
Powering the all-in-one is an intel Core i5 processor with Intel HD Graphics 5500. In terms of storage, it has 8GB of RAM and a rather slow 5400RPM 1TB hard drive with “embedded flash drive.” The curved all-in-one will be running on Windows 8.1 and boasts two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, and a card reader.
As previously mentioned, this all-in-one computer has a 27-inch curved monitor with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Oddly enough, the monitor isn’t a touchscreen unit that many manufacturers usually implement for all-in-one computers. Perhaps Samsung figured the touchscreen feature won’t be necessary for a curved monitor.
The ATIV One 7 Curved retails at US$1,300 (approximately RM4,545) and will available in the first quarter of 2015 for the US. More details will be revealed by Samsung at CES 2015; although we can’t be sure if Samsung’s new policy of not selling laptops in this region extends to AIOs as well.
