While the verdict on it is still out there, the curved form factor is starting to get popular among monitor and TV manufacturers such as Samsung, LG, and Dell. However, not everyone are going with the new trend though such as this particular American manufacturer called VIZIO who has published a spoof ad (shown above) that mocked the form factor.
With a tone that mimics TV shopping, the spoof ad features a fictional anti-curved glasses (shown below) that turns one’s curved TV into a flat screen. The product is also bundled together with curved TV seating chart, detachable drink holder, and “caution” barricade tape.
Not enough with that, there is also a price tag which is obviously fictional as well: USD 300 (RM 1052). The spoof ad concludes with this statement that said “Don’t fall for the curve. Beautifully flat Ultra HD” alongside one of VIZIO’s 4K TV.
While the ad might not be real, the brand did came out with a real website to accompany the spoof ad which offers discounts for VIZIO P-Series Ultra HD TV series. Unfortunately, the offer is only available for US market but then again, VIZIO products are not officially available in Malaysia anyway.
Nevertheless, it is rather interesting to see that there is another side of argument regarding curved TVs when there are so many companies are adopting the form factor. Not to forget, the argument is presented in a hilarious way too.
