Samsung has always been called out for its extensive use of plastic in its smartphones. This has probably sparked the incorporation of the metal frame on the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. The company’s upcoming flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S6, will take this a step further; that is, if the rumour proves to be true.
According to the rumour, the Galaxy S6 will feature a metal unibody construction, much like the HTC One M8’s design. In the leaked images, it shows a metal unibody frame that acts as the base for the back and sides of the phone, a departure from the Galaxy Alpha’s design that only has a metal frame. A microUSB port can also be seen at the bottom of the metal frame.
If this does prove to be true, it would mean that the previous rumour of the Galaxy S6 having a curved display on both sides is now false; or at least it will result in a very interesting design. With so many rumours running around though, it’s hard to say which is which until the phone is officially unveiled by Samsung.
The Galaxy S6 is rumoured to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2015 that is taking place sometime in March 2015. It will be a pleasant surprise if Samsung decides to tease the Galaxy S6 at the upcoming CES 2015.
