Blizzard’s award winning Hearthstone card game is now available on all Android tablets after a soft launch in selected regions. Players will need to have a device of 6-inches or more to play the game properly, but there are also plans to bring the game to smartphones at some point in the future.
The Android release follows the iPad version of Hearthstone, and just in time to join in the fun with the recently launch first expansion set for the game. Goblins vs Gnomes arrived on about two weeks ago, and has refreshed the game for many players. That being said, it has not been an easy start as some gamers accidentally bought the wrong booster packs in their eagerness for new cards.
As a celebration of the release, Blizzard is offering a free booster pack for anyone who logs into Hearthstone from an Android device. And since accounts are shared across platforms, this is a benefit for everyone who already plays the game. New players will also find the extra cards helpful in building their collection.
Many have been expecting the Android version of Hearthstone for months since the game was released on the iPad several months ago. Why it has taken Blizzard this long to get the game ported over is a mystery, although this is the same company that likes taking its own sweet time to release sequels; and eight months in nothing compared to the entire decade it took Diablo III to appear.
