Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) has just announced the availability of the Poseidon GTX 980 in Malaysia. In order to provide an efficient cooling system, Asus has implemented its very own DirectCU H2O technology in this graphics card, which also gives users the flexibility to choose between air and water cooling.
The Poseidon GTX 980 has a custom vapour chamber that is in direct contact with the GPU for faster heat dispersal, along with copper heat-pipes and extended cooling fins to keep the card even cooler. Users who opt for water cooling need not to worry as well; the Poseidon GTX 980 comes with standard G¼-inch threaded fittings that will accommodate existing water cooling equipment.
Performance wise, Asus claims that the Poseidon GTX 980 runs up to 27°C lower than reference design, which translates up to 10% faster gaming performance in Watch Dogs and 7% in Battlefield 4.
Asus has also included a number of premium components in the Poseidon GTX 980. These include a black metallic solid-state capacitors, 10-phase Super Alloy Power concrete-core chokes, and hardened MOSFETs. All of these is said to increase the card’s reliability and lifespan.
It’s no secret that the GTX 980 is one of the most powerful graphics card currently available, which makes the Poseidon GTX 980 a pretty compelling graphics card for consumers. Based on the Maxwell architecture, the GTX 980 makes use of the most recent features from NVIDIA like Dynamic Super Resolution that provides better downscaling of ultra HD resolutions and VR Direct that lays the groundwork for the upcoming VR headset revolution.
The Poseidon GTX 980 is available immediately in Malaysia retailing at RM2599. For more information, visit the official product page.
