Are you ready for yet another round of Steam sale? Not long after the autumn sale, Steam’s winter sale has now been confirmed to start on the 18th of December 2014 to the 2nd of January 2015. That’s 15 days of sales folks, so be prepared.
Word of the sale first appeared online on a Reddit thread which can be found here. The thread starter, Quantumbinman, apparently received an email from PayPal Japan leaking the starting date of the winter sale.
Many were sceptical of the authenticity of the email, but PC Gamer reached out to Quantumbinman to investigate further. As it turns out, the email is in fact legit as it is mirrored on a PayPal domain.
Those who are still not convinced will be glad to know that the folks over at Eurogamer.net have also confirmed the starting date of Steam’s winter sale. They also mentioned that the sale will start at 6pm GMT, which is 2am on the 19th of December for us Malaysians.
In the previous winter sale, Steam introduced a trading card system where you can collect, trade and craft trading cards in exchange for random in-game items from Valve’s collection of free-to-play games such as DotA 2. Whether or not something similar would happen for this year’s sale, we’ll just have to wait for it to begin.
