When the subject of high definition comes into discussion, most would have thought of 4K resolution which has been gaining traction from industry players and consumers as of late. But Dell has decided to go slightly further by coming out with a 5K resolution display and guess what, it will be made available in Malaysia tomorrow.
Just to be specific, the resolution of the 27-inch Dell UltraSharp UP2715K is listed as 5120 x 2880. To be able to access that resolution though, users certainly need a very powerful graphics card since the 5K resolution can only be obtainable by using the monitor’s two DisplayPort 1.2 connections. However, the monitor does come with another mini-DisplayPort connection for users that would like utilize the monitor at 4K resolution instead.
Built with 10-bit IPS panel, the Dell UltraSharp UP2715K monitor is apparently factory-tuned to provide 99% Adobe RGB and 100% sRGB palette coverage as well as a pixel density of 218 ppi, 8ms GTG response time and anti-glare coating. Not enough with that, Dell has also equipped the UltraSharp UP2715K monitor with additional features including two 16W Harman Kardon speakers, one upstream USB 3.0 port, five downstream USB 3.0 ports and a media card reader.
How about the price then? Obviously, one can’t expect 5K monitor to be cheap and true enough, the Dell UltraSharp UP2715K carries a price tag of RM 6,399.
Meanwhile, Dell also has several other new monitors under its sleeves apart from UltraSharp UP2715K model. They include the 34-inch UltraSharp U3415W curved WQHD monitor (shown above) and 25-inch UltraSharp U2515H QHD monitor together with the affordable 24-inch P2415Q and 27-inch P2715Q 4K2K monitors.
These new monitors are priced at RM 3499, RM 1349, RM 1939, and RM 2309 respectively. As for availability, both 4K2K monitors as well as the UltraSharp curved WQHD display are readily available from Dell Malaysia while the 25-inch UltraSharp model will only be available on 18 December.
