As part of its On The House Deal, Origin is now offering Sim City 2000 free to its users for a limited amount of time. This decades-old game allows users to construct their own metropolis and customise it to their own liking. The game was originally released for the Apple Macintosh in 1994 but was re-released later for Microsoft Windows.
The free download will not only feature the base game but will also come bundled with all existing expansions as Origin has decided to give away the Special Edition of the game. On top of game expansions, the Special Edition also includes the SimCity Urban Renewal Kit, the Vol. 1 scenario pack, new cities and added movies.
Although Origin made no mention of how long the promotion will be ongoing for, SimCity 2000 Special Edition will most probably be free for around a week or two based on the duration of Dragon Age: Origins when it was part of the On The House promotion.
Gamers looking to get into the a wee bit of nostalgia will most likely want to check out this free download from Origin. Even if you don’t fancy simulator games, it’s free so why not?
