The year is coming to an end and Apple has just released its best apps and games of the year 2014. If you’re on your school break or clearing leave, download these apps and discover what Apple deems as “exhilarating, innovative, surprising” enough to be 2014’s chart topper.
Taking the top place as App and Game of the Year are Elevate – Brain Training and Threes! respectively. Elevate – Brain Training, as its name suggest, is an iPhone app that features a bunch of workout catered for your brain. It has 25 games to train different skills like focus, memory, processing, math, precision and comprehension. According to the developers, users who train at least 4 times a week have reported dramatic gains and increased confidence. Sounds promising, no wonder it’s the App of the Year 2014, and it’s available for free (with in-app purchases of course).
Featured in our App of the Week before, Threes! is a highly addictive puzzle game that involves matching numbers together. I guess it needs no explanation, shortly after the release of Threes, many look-alike games started popping up in different app stores. Many games became hyped up throughout 2014, but the heat died off almost as quickly. Threes is not only the one that remained popular since its launch, it also won Apple’s Game of the Year 2014. Threes! is available on the App Store for US$2.99.
The runner-up for App and Game of the Year are Hyperlase from Instagram (free), and Leo’s Fortune (US$4.99). Have already downloaded and tried these four apps? Apple also has a list of best apps and games of the year, something you won’t want to miss out on.
