First introduced in Thailand, TCT Mobile Malaysia has now officially launched the Alcatel OneTouch Flash in Malaysia. The OneTouch Flash is a phablet at the budget end of the smartphone market; in other words, this is Alcatel’s answer to Xiaomi’s Redmi Note.
The OneTouch Flash is a 5.5-inch smartphone with a 1280 x 720 IPS display. Powering this budget phablet is the MediaTek MT6592M, a true octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz paired to 1GB of RAM. Storage wise, it has 8GB of internal storage that is expandable with a microSD card up to 32GB.
Other notable specifications include a rear 13MP camera with LED flash and 5MP front camera, dual SIM support, Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, and a huge 3200mAh battery. With the rather generous battery size, Alcatel claims that the OneTouch Flash has a standby time of up to 465 hours, which roughly translate to 19 days.
Retailing at RM699, every OneTouch Flash purchased is bundled with a flip cover and Screen Warranty Care+, which provides free one-time screen replacement within the first 12 months. Other than that, the first 1000 units sold will also come with a free selfie stick.
The OneTouch Flash will be available from the 12th of December for West Malaysia, and 15th December for East Malaysia. The smartphone will come in two choices of colour: Crystal White and Gun Grey.
