About two months ago, U Mobile introduced a free non-stop streaming service for YouTube and Tonton and now, the telco has included free music streaming to the offer as well. From now until 15 May 2015, U Mobile prepaid, postpaid and even broadband subscribers can watch videos on YouTube and Tonton, and stream music on Kkbox, Era FM, Hitz.FM and MY FM for free. The catch?
The free video streaming on U Mobile is only available daily from 2am to 10am. If you watch videos on YouTube and Tonton, U Mobile will not deduct your data quota. However, there’s a 500MB limit each day and if you exceed that limit, you will be throttled to 512kbps speeds – the quota will be renewed daily.
As for free music streaming, U Mobile offers free streaming when you tune in to Kkbox, MY FM, Era FM and Hitz.FM for the whole day. However, the connection speed will be limited to 512kbps (DL) and 256kbps (UL). On top of that, U Mobile subscribers are given free upgrade to premium version of Kkbox. The free premium version will last until January 2015 (exact date not given), after that, you will be downgraded to a freemium edition.
Free music and video streaming is available for U Mobile prepaid (UMI18, UMI28, UMI38, UMI48), Postpaid (U Plus Plan, U Premium, U Platinum, UD68, UD98, UD158, U28, U50, U80, U88, E28, E58, E88, ISP68), and broadband plan (MBDay, MB15, MB40, MB68, MB88, MB128) subscribers. Visit U Mobile now to find out more.
