Remember the HTC One (M9) that was rumoured just days ago? Well, it looks like it may not be real because the latest rumours are now saying that the next flagship smartphone from the Taiwanese company will be called Hima, and will have even better hardware to offer.
According to @upleaks, HTC will be dropping the M codenames, and the next flagship will be known as Hima. The same Twitter account also mentioned the specs of the HTC Hima, with some really impressive hardware to offer. According to @upleaks, the Hima will have a 5” FHD display instead of the 5.5” 2K display that was mentioned in previous rumours. Depending on your usage, a lower resolution display could be a better thing, especially when battery life is your concern.
The current flagship smartphone from HTC – the One (M8)
Beneath that is the latest Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with four 2.0GHz Cortex-A57 cores, and four 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 cores, paired with an Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Other specs mentioned includes 20.7MP rear camera (as opposed to the 16MP one mentioned earlier), a 13MP or 4MP UltraPixel front shooter, Cat 6 LTE, 2,840mAh battery and will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7.0 on board.
The HTC Hima is expected to be announced very soon (CES 2015, probably), and should be launched in March, just in time for MWC 2015. But wait, that’s not all, according to @upleaks, HTC will also announce a few Desire smartphones at MWC, as well as a HTC Hima Ace, a more affordable version of the Hima that should be like what the HTC One E8 is to the One M8.
Excited to see what HTC has got up its sleeves? CES 2015 will be held on 6 to 9 January 2015, and MWC 2015 is scheduled for 2 to 5 March 2015.
