After seeing so many posts and news about Chinese phone manufacturers copying Apple for the design of their phones, here’s the exact opposite – Digione, a relatively unknown Chinese phone manufacturer, is now claiming Apple copied the design of their phones on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Back in September, Digione sent the Cupertino company a letter telling them that the design of their new phones might infringe on one of Digione’s patent that was granted to then in July by China’s State Intellectual Property Office. Apple has been very quiet about the letter and frustrated, Digione decided to publish it online, hoping that “communications with goodwill would contribute to solving potential legal disputes”.
The phone that Digione claims the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus looks like is called “100 + V6”, and it has got some pretty cool stuffs to offer too for a very affordable price. It features magnesium alloy build and a 5.5” 1080p display at the front. Beneath that is a 2GHz MTK 6592Turbo octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM and up to 32GB of internal storage. Other specs include 3200mAh battery, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, and dual SIM support. The price? About US$130, that’s less than RM500.
Do you think the iPhone 6/6 Plus looks like the one from Digione?
