Earlier this month, Microsoft and Dropbox announced a partnership to implement Dropbox into Microsoft Office and if you’ve been waiting for it, here it is. Dropbox recently updated its mobile app for iOS and Android platform that makes it a whole lot easier to edit and manage your Microsoft Office files.
Gone are the days where you need to constantly sync your Office documents to Dropbox to make sure the files are up to date, with the new update, when you need to edit your Word Document, Excel Spreadsheet or PowerPoint Presentation that are stored on Dropbox, just open the file on the latest Dropbox for Android/iOS and tap the edit button. Dropbox will then load up the respective Office app (Word, Excel or PowerPoint) and once the changes have been made, just save it and you will be brought back to Dropbox – no syncing required.

Speaking about Dropbox, the cloud storage company is also working on an update for its Carousel photo storage app that will delete local images once they’ve been backed up. Unfortunately for those of you who are cheering because your smartphone only has 16GB of non-expandable storage on board, Dropbox told TheNextWeb that it’s only a test feature and might not even be made available publicly.
