Oppo Malaysia has opened pre-orders for its unique N3 smartphone. Starting from today, you can place an order for the smartphone with a 16MP rotating camera at a retail price of RM2098. Plus, there’s even a very attractive “premium gift package” worth RM406 for the first 3,000 customers.
Announced just last month in a global event in Singapore, the N3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.3GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, with 32GB of internal storage. The display is slightly smaller than the previous generation N1, which is a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display compared to a 5.9-inch one on the N1. It runs on the latest ColorOS 2.0, based on Android 4.4, and packs a 3,000mAh battery.
But naturally, the focus is on the 16MP f/2.2 sensor, which has a motorised mount that allows it to rotate 206 degrees from the back to the front. There’s also the O Click 2.0 accessory, a Bluetooth-powered remote shutter button for even more creative applications.
Starting from 26 November (that’s today) until December 20, customers can make a RM100 deposit to pre-order the N3, which will be available to pick up from 1 January 2015 – about 6 weeks from now. Oppo Malaysia says that you can make a pre-order from “all mobile phone outlets”, but we recommend going to its Concept Stores located in 10 states around the peninsula. On 1 January, you’ll then be required to pick up the device and pay the remaining balance or risk burning the deposit.
Alternatively, you can also pre-order online via Oppo’s official online partner, Storekini. However, it appears the pre-order site has not yet gone live – we’ll update this post with the pre-order link when it is ready. (UPDATE @ 1:23pm, November 26) The pre-order link on Storekini is now up!
Finally, Oppo will also be bundling a Premim Gift Package for the first 3,000 pre-orders. Consisting of a VOOC car charger, screen protector and a phone case or O-Click 2.0 – there appears to be some sort of miscommunication on the press release. We’re leaning towards the phone case, as the O-Click is supposed to be bundled with the phone. Either way, the package is said to be worth RM406.
