For those who have been having performance issues with the SwiftKey keyboard on your Android device, SwiftKey has just updated its highly popular keyboard to fix these issues. A noticeable boost in general performance and fluidity should be noticeable after the update.
The SwiftKey Keyboard, one of the most popular third-party keyboard that recently made it to iOS devices, adds a number of performance improvements with the new update. Users will notice that the keyboard now comes up 15-20% quicker after selecting a text field. This was accomplished by investigating and improving the performance of the keyboard in instances when it was brought up such as the first time after installation (cold load) and subsequent loads (cached load).
Other than that, the keyboard also closes faster, by as much as 20-30%. Switching between fields see a 15-50% improvement in speed and general responsiveness when typing is increased by 10-18%. These improvements should be useful for users who need to work fast and efficiently.
SwiftKey keyboard on older or slower devices will especially benefit from this update. Several new language support is also added in the update, including Punjabi, Tamil, and Nepali.
You can grab the SwiftKey keyboard at the Google Play Store if you haven’t already. No word yet when the update would come to the iOS.
