After its success with the Honor 3C and recently-launched Honor 6, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is looking to expand its smartphone portfolio here with another Honor smartphone. The company has just begun teasing the Honor 3C Lite via its official Facebook page – though information about the device is pretty scarce.
There is virtually no information available about an Honor 3C Lite, though it is likely to be the Honor 3C Play, which was released in China about three months ago. Then, it made the news as the company made comparisons with Apple, despite the 3C Play being about 13% of the iPhone’s retail price.
Regardless, if the Honor 3C Lite is indeed the Honor 3C Play, Malaysian consumers should be in for a treat, as it will be yet another competitively priced smartphone with exceptional value for money. The Honor 3C Play is powered by a MediaTek MT6582 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM, and packs a 5-inch 720p display as well as an 8MP rear camera – but only 4GB of internal storage (there should be a microSD card though).

In its teaser, Honor Malaysia did not reveal too much, though the 5-inch display is confirmed, as is dual-SIM support. What should excite consumers the most is with the retail price: the Honor 3C Play retails at 599 Yuan, which translates to about RM325. At this price point, there is virtually no other competitor – only the RM299 Asus ZenFone 4 sits between the new Honor smartphone and total dominance.
Honor Malaysia has not yet revealed when the Honor 3C Lite will be available, but has hinted that it will be coming soon. As per its operations, the Honor 3C Lite will likely be exclusively available via Huawei’s Vmall.my sales portal.
