Well, that was fast, shortly after seeing some Android 5.0 Lollipop screenshots for the LG G3, the Korean company is now saying that they will be releasing that much awaited for update in this week. The updated will be released to the lucky folks in Poland first, followed by other key markets “in the near future”.
The announcement was made just yesterday so I guess their week must start from a Sunday. This makes LG the first global smartphone manufacturer to offer the Android Lollipop update.
“LG is absolutely committed to giving our customers the best mobile experiences available and bringing Android Lollipop to G3 owners as soon as possible is a top priority. The new features and improvements in Android 5.0 will bring a whole new user experience to the G3 and make it even better than it already is.” — Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
Android 5.0 Lollipop for LG brings Google’s Material Design to its lineup of smartphones, as well as a bunch of improvements. According to LG, there will be a redesigned Notifications with new color screens, and will be available on the new lock screen. On top of an interface makeover, there is also a new security feature to strengthen the connectivity between devices such as Bluetooth unlocking using LG G Watch or G Watch R.
This is definitely great news for LG G3 owners for being one of the first to get the latest Android OS update on your smartphone. Now if only LG Malaysia will bring their latest smartphones here.
