As you might heard, there is no Nokia Lumia anymore as Microsoft has now renamed the brand as “Microsoft Lumia” as a result of the company’s acquisition over Nokia’s Devices and Services business that was announced in 2014. In fact, even Nokia Malaysia earlier today has switched the name of its official Facebook page to Microsoft Lumia Malaysia.
That being said, existing Lumia smartphones in the market are technically still Nokia Lumia devices. However, that will change next week as Microsoft will be announcing the first ever Microsoft Lumia smartphone.
The announcement will take place on 11 November, as confirmed by a teaser post on the official blog of Microsoft Mobile. Complete with #MoreLumia hashtag (which sounds rather familiar), the post is also accompanied by an image of the front facing camera from the new device.
Obviously, there are not much official information available regarding the new device at the moment but the image above does resemble this particular Microsoft Lumia smartphone which apparently has gone through certification process in China.
It is expected to be called Lumia 535 and might feature a fairly low-end specifications including 5-inch HD display, 1.2Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 5-megapixels rear camera and VGA front camera. The device also might be equipped with dual-SIM capability and a 1900mAh battery.
If this spec proves to be true, what we might see next is generally a slightly enhanced version of Lumia 530. Well then, let’s wait and see.
